The Lazio star striker Mauro Zarate has said that he is fully committed to Lazio and is not looking for a move away from the club. The player has been linked with a move to a Turkish club in the final few days of the summer transfer window. However, a move never materialised and the player ended up staying at Lazio.

Now, he has reaffirmed his commitment to the club by telling Liverpool Football News that he never thought about leaving the Italian club. The player was on a loan spell with Inter Milan last season. Now, he was once again expected to leave the club due to his bitter problems with the manager Edy Reja.

However, the sacking of Edy Reja has meant that Mauro Zarate has been able to commit his future to Lazio. Edy Reja was recently replaced by Vladimir Petkovic. Mauro Zarate has said that his main job is to be fit to return to Lazio and focus on winning the hearts of supporters. He is regarded as one of the best players in the world, but the Argentine has not had a chance to show his true quality to the Lazio fans. Now, he is hoping that he will finally get the chance.

“Maurito returned to Lazio and the unconditional affection of the fans. These are his people and he wants to repay them. His teammates also care for him, as shown by the collective embrace after he scored against FK Mura. He is happy here, this is his team and the Laziali are his people. The past is behind him now. He has settled into this new reality with a Coach who is a great person and rewards the most worthy. Mauro is pleased with the kind words Petkovic said about him,” said agent Luis Ruzzi.
