LAZIO OVERCOME AC
Lazio has defeated AC Milan in a Serie A match played at Stadio Olimpico on Saturday. Lazio won the match by a close margin of 3-2. This was the sixth victory for Lazio in the ongoing Serie A League. With the help of this close win, Lazio has now moved up to no. 3 in the points table. Lazio has won 6 out of the 8 matches that it has played in the ongoing Serie A League so far. On the other hand, this was the fifth defeat for AC Milan in the competition. This defeat took Milan to no. 15 in the points table.
Lazio took the lead of 1-0 in the 25th minute of the match with the goal of Hernanes. It was a fantastic left footed strike by the Brazilian midfielder. There was so much power in the shot that the Milan goalkeeper, Marco Amelia, had absolutely no chance of stopping the ball.
The score became 2-0 in the favour of Lazio in the 41st minute when Antonio Candreva found the net with an angular shot from a distance of 25 yards. The ball flew into the right hand corner of the net. There were no more goals scored in the first half.
Milan got deeper into trouble when Miroslav Klose scored the third goal for Lazio in the 49th minute by capitalizing on the cross of Antonio Candreva.
Milan managed to reduce the lead to 3-1 in the 16th minute of the second half with the goal of Nigel De Jong. It was the first goal of Jong for AC Milan. The Dutch midfielder deflected a brilliant free kick from Urby Emmanuelson and the ball went into the bottom corner of the net.
Stephen El Shaarawy made the match interesting by scoring the second goal for Milan in the 79th minute of the match. The Milan team needed to score one more goal in the last 10 minutes to gather at least one point, but, that didn’t happen and Milan had to suffer yet another defeat in the tournament.
Lazio will play against Fiorentina in its next match on Sunday.
