LAZIO HOLD THEIR OWN DESTINY

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has said that his club hold their own destiny when it comes to finishing in the Champions League this season. Lazio are currently third in the Italian Serie A at the moment, which will guarantee them the ability to play in the group stages of the champions league next season. It will once again see the rise of the club, which has played second fiddle to Roma for a number of years now. Lazio will be taking on Parma during the weekend, who have been struggling with relegation for most of the season.

Lazio currently have a three-point advantage over fourth placed Napoli and they are one of the favourites to finish in the third position. However, nervousness is extremely high within the Lazio camp, which has led to three defeats in the last five matches. Hence, Parma are the favourites to get three points during this weekend, as they will be at home. Speaking ahead of the match, Lazio president Claudio Lotito said that it was extremely important that the club finished in the third position, while he was also feeling extremely confident about the same. Napoli struggled with form during the early part of the season when they focused mostly on the champions league, but as they are out of the competition, they are expected to put the full focus to the domestic campaign.

“I am convinced that Lazio can play on equal terms with all teams. Every game has its own story. Lazio, however, are the masters of their own destiny. If the team plays with a spirit of sacrifice and is motivated, we can get great results. Nine games left, nine finals. The team must give 101 per cent to get a result against Parma,” he told to the La Gazzetta dello Sport.
