Italy striker Ciro Immobile netted an impressive hat trick to help Lazio defeat high spenders AC Milan in a Serie A clash on Sunday.

Simeone Inzaghi’s side ran riot over the Chinese-owned club with on-fire Immobile netting thrice after the game was delayed for an hour due to torrential rainfall in Rome.

Immobile scored from the spot for the first goal in the 38th minute. He sent a brilliant volley for the second in the 43rd minute. After the short break, he scored the third from close range in the 48th minute to set the team on the path of victory.

Former Liverpool man Luis Alberto netted a four of the game to send the team 4-0 ahead but Riccardo Montolivo scored the consolation for Milan in the 56th minute.

The flash flood in the Italian capital was not enough to stop the game. The roads were affected and the Metro Lines closed. The StadioOlimpico was not affected much as the surface had been covered with sheets a day earlier. Supporters struggled to get to the game so there were numerous empty seats.

Lazio would be comfortable with the win, barcaptain Marco Parolo being sent off in injury time after an earlier warning.

On the other hand, Inter Milan maintained their perfect start to the new season as they beat SPAL 2-0 at the San Siro. Mauro Icardiscored from the spot while Man United target Ivan Perisic added the second.

Fiorentina and Napoli scored heavy away from home, netting five and three against Hellas Verona and Bologna respectively.
