LAZIO WILL NOT SELL

Italian club Lazio have once again stated that they do not have the intention of selling German international Miroslav Klose in the summer. The former Bayern Munich striker has been linked with a move away from Lazio after impressing with the Italian club in his first season. The 34-year-old striker only has one year left on his current contract, which has led to speculation that he could be subject to a bid of around £ 10 million. However, Lazio have stated that they intend to keep Miroslav Klose until the end of his contract at the least.

Spanish club Barcelona are one of the names being mentioned as a possible destination for Miroslav Klose. Due to the lack of the target number nine, Barcelona failed to get past Chelsea, who defended in great numbers. Miroslav Klose is just the right kind of striker that would suit Barcelona at the moment. The 34-year-old has incredible experience having played for the national team on many occasions, while he has great experience of the club football as well during his time at Bayern Munich. Miroslav Klose has scored an amazing 13 goals in just 27 Italian Serie A matches for the club.

“Klose is not for sale. We have not received any offers for him. If an offer was to arrive, we would not accept it because he is a crucial player for us,” according to Lazio sporting director Igli Tare, who said to Sky Italia. Meanwhile, Lazio midfielder Hernanes has confirmed that he is not looking at the Premier league as his next possible destination. Hernanes has confirmed that he will be leaving Lazio, but has said that he would ideally like to move to Spain. Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal are some of the clubs interested in securing his signature.

KLOSE RESUMES TRAINING

Lazio have been boosted by the news that German striker Miroslav Klose has resumed training. The German striker moved to the club in the summer and has been one of the main reasons for them to be challenging for the Champions League positions this season. However, their bid to finish in the top three has been dented by the poor form the club has been showing in recent weeks. As a result, they have relinquished their stronghold on the third position and are now in the fifth position. They now have to make up two points over Napoli and Udinese if they are to finish in the Champions League next season.

Miroslav Klose has been the top scorer for Lazio this season with 13 goals to his name. However, he has not played for the club since March after picking up a thigh strain during training. Lazio has certainly missed his goals, which is quite clearly seen from their poor form in the last few weeks. Lazio do not have a single victory in the last five matches, which has contributed to their downfall in the league. They are now up against the competition from Roma and Inter Milan for the fifth position, which will at least give them the chance to take part in the Europa league.

Initially, it was thought that Miroslav Klose would not return until the Euro 2012. The 33-year-old striker currently holds the record for the most a number of World Cup goals. However, the striker himself said that the reports were untrue and that he would return to the first-team action for Lazio in May. They have been proven true after the striker has now resumed training. Lazio have tough matches in the last two. They will be facing Atlanta and Inter Milan.

Juevntus Draw Closer

Juventus had a perfect chance to close the gap on leaders Lazio and they utilised the opportunity perfectly by winning their game in hand against Palermo 3-0. The spectacular win puts them level on points with Lazio at the top of the Italian Serie A table. It comes as a major blow for Lazio who had been hoping for something of a miracle from Palermo. Juventus are still undefeated in the season so far, having played 10 games, and in spite of Lazio’s good form, they have struggled to match the Old Lady match for match.

This week they could only draw against Napoli. The 0-0 means that they were unable to take advantage of the problems Juventus have been having recently, where they have struggled to break down the opposition. Juventus broke their run of draws with the win over Palermo, putting Juventus ahead in the table by virtue of having played a fewer number of games. Once Juventus win their game in hand, they would move three points clear of Lazio. Pirlo scored one of the majestic free kicks he has always been known for to help Juventus recorded the impressive 3-0 win over Palermo.

The result is of extreme importance given that Lazio will be facing Juventus in their next match. However, it will undoubtedly be Lazio who head into the tie with the advantage, given that they are at home. Also, they have been undefeated in their last five matches, which is sure to give them great confidence back at the Stadio Olimpico.

Despite having a strike force where both of them are more than 30 years old, Lazio seem to be doing extremely well at the art of scoring goals – Cissé may have scored only one goal in his 11 appearances, but Miroslav Klose has scored six goals scored far.
