LINDELOF SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO KICK A BALL FIRST

It is without secret that for most of football’s history the defenders of Italian decent have been believed to have a unique talent when it comes to laying their body down in a bid to stop the round leather from crossing their goal line.

The very word defenders and names like Franco Baresi and Paolo Maldini have become almost synonymous with each other.

However, once in a while other capable hands from relatively unknown leagues or even nations serve to remind the rest of us that talent is never bounded by national boundaries or continents. You get to hear of Nemanja Vidic of Serbia, Daniel Agger of Denmark and Samuel Kuffour of Ghana.

Manchester United were able to get a player of such a mould in the person of Eric Bailly who operated as a quiet surgical sweeper at La Liga side Villarreal before being scooped onto stardom at Jose Mourinho’s orders.

As the transfer window looms and the Red Devils get ready to splash more cash into any available talent pool, one piece of business they have considered as a priority – given how swiftly they conducted it – was signing a center back capable of forging reliable pairing with the only one they currently have – Bailly. Lazio is interested in signing Manchester City’s EnesUnal

EnesUnal is a 19 year old Turkish attacker who is currently performing for FC Twente on a loan deal which extends until the end of the season.

So far, it has been a hugely impressive season for Unal as he has scored 18 goals in 31 appearances and has attracted the attention of major clubs including: Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Lazio FC.

A source at the Etihad Stadium was quoted as saying: “He’s scoring every week in Holland. Lazio have sent scouts to watch him and talks are set to begin over the coming weeks.City is in no rush to decide where he is going.Pep is willing to take him on the summer tour of the United States before making his mind up.”

There is an issue which might facilitate the potential transfer of EnesUnal to any of the interested clubs and it’s the fact that the youngster does not have a work permit and without this, he will not be able to perform with his parent club Manchester City in the upcoming season.

In order for EnesUnal to qualify for a work permit, he must have competed in 30-70% of his international matches over the previous 2 years and the 19 year old player has only been featured in 5 international matches since March of 2015. As the January transfer window opens next year, AC Milan’s coach, Vincenzo Montella, hopes to make some new additions to his squad, especially in the positions of a centre midfielder and a winger.

He has also expressed readiness to part with Carlos Bacca, in order to make sure the signing of Keita is successful.

For Keita who would feature in January’s African Cup of Nations, he has been hoping for a significant increase in his pay, but it seems like Lazio will not be willing to offer him anything more than €1.5 million a season. Continue reading KEITA READY TO LEAVE LAZIO, MILAN PREPARES OFFER

Anderson not leaving Lazio according to agent

Felipe Anderson’s agent has denied that the Lazio player will be leaving the club in the summer.

There have been rumors that Felipe Anderson will be leaving the Italian club for Manchester United after the club has failed to qualify for the Europa League.

The Lazio director stated some time ago that he has turned down a €50m offer for the forward but did not tell from which club it was. There are media reports that Manchester United might be interested in boosting their attacking options especially now with Rooney playing in a central role in midfield. Indeed, this season Manchester United has been relying on young players such as Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford for goals. In Felipe Anderson, they will have a trusted and proven scorer that will allow them to win important games.

So far this season, the Lazio player has made 45 appearances for the team and managed to score 9 goals. For a player that is still 23, he still has time to improve and to become a world-class striker. Continue reading Anderson not leaving Lazio according to agent

LAZIO APPOINT NEW COACH

Italian side, Lazio have appointed a new coach to replace Stefano Pioli. Pioli is being replaced by Simone Inzaghi following a derby loss to Roma. The loss was colossal for Lazio, losing by four goals to one. The replacement was announced on Sunday, after the loss to their city rival. The team is now in eight position and may not make Europe next season.

Stefano Pioli helped Lazio to a third place finish in the last campaign but lost a chance to engage in the UEFA champions league due to a loss to Bayern Leverkusen in the playoffs.

The new coach, Inzaghi, is coming to the seria A for the first time even though he had been with the club’s youth squad. The trend just continues as Lazio is the eighth in the league to change a coach this same season.

The 39-year-old Simone Inzaghi, who is a former Lazio player, is the younger brother of legendary striker, Filippo Inzaghi. Filippo Inzaghi played for juventus and AC Milan. He even coached AC Milan last season. Filippo Inzaghi had taken over the reins from Clarence Seedorf. Since he couldn’t turn around the woes of the once revered club, he was also fired and replaced with Sinisa Mihajlovic. The current coach has also come under fire for poor performance this season and may be replaced during the summer. Continue reading LAZIO APPOINT NEW COACH

Lazio trying to keep hold of Felipe Anderson

Lazio’s Felipe Anderson is attracting the interest of top European clubs but the Italian club is attempting to keep hold of the 22 year old midfielder for as long as possible. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are the latest clubs that have shown interest in securing the services of the Brazilian player but it’s unlikely that Anderson will be leaving Lazio unless a very tempting offer is launched.

Igli Tare is the technical area coordinator of Lazio and he revealed that Manchester United made an offer in the region of €50 million as the Premier League club attempted to sign the Brazilian midfielder but Lazio rejected this offer as the offer wasn’t good enough.

“We turned down a €50m offer from Manchester United on Aug. 27 and nothing has changed since then, because if he finds consistency, then he’s worth much more. We also resisted bigger offers than that, but we have targets to achieve.” Lazio’s technical coordinator, Igli Tare said.

The Italian club is indeed willing to offload Felipe Anderson as well as a few other players who have attracted the interest of other European clubs but only if the price is right. Igli Tare revealed that the board of directors of the club and the rest of the head chiefs of the club will meet up and evaluate every offer that has been made and will be made throughout the winter transfer window before reaching a decision. After having captured the third place at such a crucial stage in the season,Pioli will start dreaming about a Champions League spot.

Qualification for the Champions League will be an immense achievement forPioli, who came to the club only this season as the replacement for Edoardo Reja. Lazio best Form comes to an End

Lazio’s amazing run of form came to an end after the team suffered a 1-0 defeat against Napoli. This is a huge setback for the team currently chasing for a top three place.

This was seen as a six-pointer given that Napoli’s position as the third best team in Italy was under severe threat. Rafa Benitez’ team has now opened a two-point advantage over Lazio, but the race is still very tight at the top of the table. After the match, Lazio boss Stefano Pioli said that he did not envisage a defeat after having played so well against one of the top teams in the country.
